Bart and the Beanstalk by Gulliver63 Bart and the Beanstalk by Gulliver63
It's been a while since I've done a Simpsons, and I figured it was time for another. I started this piece this morning, not even planning to do a full blown project...but it was just so darn fun. I was influenced by the old episode where the family dreamed about being in different bible stories. One thing led to another, and this is what I came up with. All done on the tablet with Corel and Sketchbook Express.

Great pic!  Fortunately for Bart, giant Lisa is probably a vegan, so there's a good chance he'll be able to talk his way out of this.  Can't say the same for the little folk in your other beanstalk pics though.  ;)

Thanks! I'd like to take all the credit, but it was based on a screengrab; Bart's school bully was the giant, and he was David. Still, it was awfully fun to play with this on the tablet. It ended up being a bit different than I'd first planned.

Cool! Little sister likes to boss big brother around :-)
What's the best way to draw a Simpson? Do you start with the eyes or the outline of the head?

That is a very, very good question; each character is different. Some are very easy, like Marge, and some are harder, like Lisa with the hair spikes. It's a big costy book, but they make an excellent cheat book called "The Simpsons Handbook." I think its important to keep basic shapes in mind. Bart's head is a slightly tipped garbage pail, and his body is a lightbulb. The typical Simpsorama character's head is a rugby ball on an offset pedestal...then a bird beak is added, and everything else comes after that. Here are some other tutorials I've done at SFFC: [link] and [link] and [link] and [link] and
