Beneath the Planet of the Toons

A Matt Groening, Seth MacFarlane picture made in 1974, this film details what happens after the Total Toon Takeover of 2022. The toons, once kept as pets and servants of their human masters, revolted in the last picture, "Conquest of the Planet of the Toons." The climax of this picture is scene involving a nuclear missile that they worship; it detonates and a banner bearing the word "BANG" pops out of its top. Just before this scene, the psionic toons tried to frighten Chief Wiggum away with a vision of a burning donut shop.

     I recently read the novelization of "Battle for Planet of the Apes," and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to have some fun with it. Combine that with the fact that I like throwing these guys together so much, and you have cartoon havoc. This is sort of a companion piece to gulliver63.deviantart.com/art/… . I really enjoyed trying to reproduce this idea of a psionic creating a moving image on the wall.

     I own none of these cartoon characters; and I can bet a week's pay that some of them have never been seen together. And this is the first time I've ever drawn URL from Futurama..."Ah, yeah..."
