Book Cover

Last night I went exploring through dA land and came across a couple of artists with fantastic book covers - I hope they don't mind me blathering about them - timothyandersonart.deviantart.… and tonyfleecs.deviantart.com/ . Not only did these two folks make a fabulous cover, but they aged and dog-eared the cover as well - they looked like those wonderful old books I find in my used bookstores. When I saw the work they did, I immediately wanted to jump in and play. I went digging through my books, and came across the H. G. Wells novel "Food of the Gods," which I bought around 30 years ago as a used book. In Corel I tried to age the pic with my gauss blur and add noise options, and then added a layer where I could add the scratches and worn areas. While it comes nowhere near what these guys have done, I was pretty happy with the result. I would like to try more of these as the days go on.
