Colossal Teacher

The sheriff in the small Arizona town tried to calm down the caller on his phone. "I didn't understand what you were trying to tell me. Now...you hit a what?"
     This was a scene from "Amazing Colossal Man" that I'd forgotten about, where a sodbuster in a pick-up truck encounters the giant one evening in a rural road. I just thought it'd be funnier if he actually slammed into one. "Ouch!" Edna yelled. "Watch where you're going."
     The background photo that I posterized was a wonderful shot of a late afternoon rainshower that I photographed outside of Mesa, Arizona in 2004. I was snapping some pictures when my sister told me, "Now there's your shot."
