Fear of Giants

He got the strangest looks from the university's dean. "Carstairs, do you have any idea what this actually sounds like?"

I was recently told that there is actually a phobia of giants; I shouldn't make light of this, as there are people that fear zombie invasions and the like. But, not wanting to make fun, the idea firmly bit me in the brain and I couldn't shake it. The whole idea that the giants could be waiting to grab the protagonist, hiding among the maple trees at the edge of campus. When Earth's finest minds are collected and put into those handy metal briefcases, they'll be subjected to intense mind scans back on the ship (which of course has a cloaking device). 

     I modeled our hero after a fellow on a Jack Kirby comic cover, although his face is much slimmer than a Kirby. And the case? If you've seen "Wild, Wild Planet," then you'll recognize the human case. I own neither Marge Simpson or Lois Griffin. Hopefully I'm getting just a little closer to a really nice looking comic cover. And look - it's even approved.
