"Where is everybody?" asked Leela. "We landed at the coordinates that the Professor gave us. There's nothing here but an empty town and a few store mannequins. And who is that stupid laughing kid I keep hearing?"

Finally, The Scary Door makes it's way to the big screen, in color no less. This is an homage to the Twilight Zone's classic episode "Stopover in a Quiet Town." It's always fun for me to throw Simpsons characters in with Futurama characters. I got the bottom pose for Lisa from the Simpsons episode "Lisa's Rival" where she is reaching for a hidden science project in the floorboards, and we see Fry here in total panic mode. The order to Planet Express called for toys...order delivered!

It definately had an impact on me when I saw it as a kid back in the 70's. It's one of the greatest macrophile things I've ever seen to this day. Then they tried to steal the idea for "Land of the Giants," but it wasn't quite as good.

I saw one as a kid (it was a really good one) and it scared the crap outta me.
I was so afraid to go to be that night.
