Last Saturday a friend of mine on the west coast got to meet one of his heroes (or at least his son). How cool is that? kaspired.deviantart.com/art/Bo… Many out there that didn't grow up in the 70's might not know who Vaughn Bode is, and I can understand that. If you use Copic or Prismacolor markers, you should get to know who he is. I'm just now starting to dig into his work, and I've been blown away by what I've found. This is a name you should know.
This piece helped to lift me out of a blue funk that I've been under lately; I listened to some great music while doing it, including a live version of Rush's 2112 and Yes' double live album "Yessongs." This was truly fun to do. I chose Lois Griffin as my subject. If Mark Bode sees this, which I hope that he will, I hope he views it as an appreciation of his father's work, as well as his own. I couldn't possibly do better than those guys; the most I can hope to do is try to keep up somewhere way behind them.
I own neither Bode works, or Family Guy characters.
